Supporting pharmacists

Pharmacy: a lifelong career

The commitment and enthusiasm of Ornella Barra for the pharmacy profession have remained unchanged over the years since graduating in Pharmacy at the University of Genoa.

Today, Ornella Barra is Honorary Professor and Honorary Doctor of Science at the University of Nottingham School of Pharmacy.  Ornella teaches students on the four-year pharmacy degree course (MPharm) and she also advises the development of the MPharm degree course itself.

I love pharmacy, it brings healthcare to communities

European Pharmacists Forum (EPF)

Throughout her career, Ornella has been greatly committed to the support and development of the pharmacist profession. She was also instrumental in the creation of the European Pharmacists Forum (EPF) in 1999 and its members from across 10 countries continue to meet on a quarterly basis.

A pharmacist by training, Ornella Barra has always supported an integrated and transversal approach towards the profession: this is why the EPF facilitates the ongoing exchange of ideas between pharmacists and dialogue with the public authorities and industry, with the aim of promoting an idea of “community pharmacy”.
